Hello again, dA world. And internets.
Inspired by [link] I can't see anything wrong with just shooting out a note to rant about my dreams.
I want to be a writer. I don't think there's anything else in the world, profession-wise, that would make me more happy. The good news is that I'm going to have my first short story published - in the MacGuffin, this Fall, go buy it! - and I'm beyond thrilled about that. But it's not enough.
Not only do I want to write short stories and novels, but I'd also love to work for Marvel or Star Wars. I know, join the club, right? Well, I can't change the fact that I'm part of a huge morass of talent (of all levels) that are vying to work for those companies. But if I don't go for it, I'll never know.
SO.
I'm looking to work with anyone out there who wants to collaborate on projects. Whether they be superheroes, Jedi, or completely original characters (anything from baristas under the sea to panda-bear warfare), I'm willing to put in the work.
I'm also open to ANY advice or help. Yes, I'm not above begging! I don't have the connections or experience that some others may, so if anyone out there is willing to shoot me a line, please do.
So that's it. I'm not going to give up, because frankly, there's no reason to. I won't be happy unless I succeed. Heck, I might even be happy if I fail miserably. Either way, I'm going to try.
P.S. Another change I need to make is to stop being so critical of my own art. I'm going to start posting sketches and pencil art (and maybe some inking) on here, whether it's done or not. Or perfect enough or not. I have to stop caring so much and start making an effort. If it's good, it's good, but no one else will ever know if it's hidden beneath magazines and comics in my office.
